Wedding Flowers:
A Guide to Caring for Your Blooms

Your Love Blooms flowers are designed to arrive fresh, beautiful, and ready for your wedding day. With a little care after delivery, they’ll stay looking their best right up until you walk down the aisle. Below are our simple, stress-free tips for storing and caring for your flowers between delivery and your celebration, so you can focus on the fun parts and trust that your blooms are going to be beautiful.

Care by Arrangement Type

From bouquets to table arrangements, find the right care instructions for each arrangement type and keep your blooms looking their best in the lead up to your big day.

This as a guide only. Working with nature means that sometimes factors beyond control will ultimately determine how long flowers last.

BOUQUETS

Your hand-held bouquets will be delivered in water to keep them fresh during delivery. Leave them in the container or place them in a vase overnight. Somewhere cool and out of direct sunlight is best, topping up with fresh water if needed. All stems should be submerged in water by at least 5cm at all times.


Before the ceremony, simply lift bouquets from their containers and gently pat the stems dry with paper towel so they’re not dripping.


We recommend having a vase or container to keep your flowers in after your ceremony and photos, particularly in warm weather, if you wish for your flowers to last as long as possible.

BUTTONHOLES

Buttonholes are usually delivered in a small box. Keep your buttonhole in the provided packaging until you’re ready to wear it. Packaged buttonholes can be stored in the crisper drawer of your fridge - just make sure nothing is placed on top to avoid crushing the box and buttonholes inside.

To attach, use the included magnets for easy, secure attachment. We will also provide a small pin for extra secure attachment, and to use in case of extra thick suit fabric weakening the strength of our magnets. Please handle your buttonholes gently to keep them looking fresh.

Little note: lots of celebratory hugs are lovely, but they can crush your buttonhole - a quick check and gentle fluff now and then will help it stay looking its best.

VASE ARRANGEMENTS

Whether it’s bud vases dotted along your tables or table arrangements for your reception, vase arrangements tend to be very easy to care for.

Upon delivery, place your vases somewhere cool, out of direct sunlight and away from heat. Make sure each vase has enough water to cover the stems, topping up as needed rather than changing the water entirely. Avoid moving them around too much, as flowers can bruise easily once arranged.

On the day, a final water top-up is usually all that’s needed to have them looking fresh, and wedding-ready.

Water looking discoloured? Your flowers will be tied off inside the vase - this means the flowers can be easily removed and the vase can be emptied, rinsed and refilled with cool fresh water before popping the flowers back in. We recommend only fully changing the water like this on the day of your event if necessary, to minimise handling and prevent potential damage to your arrangements.

CEREMONY ARRANGEMENTS

Ceremony Arrangements are made into a vessel for ease of transport, but do require very gentle handling to ensure they make it to your ceremony looking their absolute best.


Once delivered, keep arrangements in a cool spot, out of direct sunlight and heat for as long as possible. Top up the vessel with cool, fresh water upon delivery (as some water may have spilled during transit) and continue to top up/check water levels daily to extend flower life.
